Responsibilities

What you'll be challenged to do:

TranSystems is seeking an Asset Managment & Maintenance Project Manager to assist in the management of the Asset Management & Maintenance (AMM) Practice. This will consist of assisting in developing and executing AMM pursuit strategies. Also, the role involves the management of assigned elements of asset management projects to assure quality, compliance with the plans and contract documents, manage project personnel, subconsultants, project inspection, and contract administration under the direction of the Responsible Charge Engineer.

 

Essential Functions:


  • Market TranSystems asset management & maintenance capabilities to federal, state, municipal and private sector clients.

  • Manage the financial performance of each assigned project, including, monthly earnings, monthly invoicing, AR collections from assigned clients and participate in monthly project reviews with senior management.

  • Ability to serve as project manager for individual project or service line; provide contract administration.

  • Ability to supervise subordinate staff.

  • Lead or assist with planning, designing, permitting and coordinating projects.

  • Participate in preparing and managing project budgets and schedules.

  • Attend and lead various meetings as needed related to asset management & maintenance projects.

  • Focuses on quality and help to ensure QA/QC procedures are followed.

  • Must be good communicator and possess ability to resolve problems.

  • Provide subject matter expertise and technical support to project teams.

  • Ability to assess and recruit staff.

  • Perform performance evaluations and provide employee feedback.

  • Ability to handle employee disciplinary reviews.

  • Manage assigned project elements, which may involve structures, roadways, other transportation facilities and building assets.

  • Analyze and interpret project plans and specifications.

  • Interprets unclear contract language.

  • Ability to lead pursuit phase of project, including the writing of the technical approaches.

  • Conform in all respects with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, ordinances and other orders and to all company policies, procedures and directives from supervisors.

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.

  • Operate standard office equipment (i.e., personal computer, facsimile, copy machine, etc.)

Qualifications

What you bring to our firm:


  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering

  • At least 10 years directly related transportation experience.

  • Considerable knowledge of asset management principles, roadway and bridge operations and maintenance practices including preservation strategies; considerable knowledge of construction engineering practices related to roadways and structures, traffic engineering, construction methods and contract administration; ability to interpret plans, specifications, and contracts; ability to make sound decisions related to legal requirements, environmental considerations, material usage, internal staff, subconsultant or contractor performance, as well as safety responsibilities related to asset management and maintenance projects; and knowledge in the use of electronic data processing equipment and contract management software.

  • Ability to supervise and manage employee work groups.

  • Valid Drivers License.

  • Prepare technical, financial, administrative, and explanatory correspondence.


  • Must be proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel)




  • Must be a good communicator and able to resolve problems.

Physical/Mental Demands:


  • Talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach.

  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds daily.

 

Work Environment:


  • Work in outdoor environment 25% of the time

  • Moderate noise level.

  • Travel via automobile on daily basis.
