Job Description:

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician will perform vehicle maintenance needs to satisfy compliance with vehicle warranties and assist with maintaining company or client fleet per request or contract.  Will also be responsible for assisting with facility maintenance and repairs as needed.

Pay Rate: $34.00-$36.00/HR

Essential Functions

·       Responsible for maintenance, service, light diagnosing, and repair of MTM Transit service, and Customer vehicles

·       Responsible for general maintenance, repairs and cleaning of MTM Transit facilities and grounds

·       Areas of repair to include but not limited to automotive vehicle, light duty truck, medium duty vehicles, and bus powertrains, undercarriage/ chassis, electronics, electrical systems and equipment, air conditioning and heating systems, and vehicle accessories and equipment drivability, light diagnosis, cleanliness, and appearance

·       Perform on the road repairs (Road Calls) as needed

·       Assist in maintaining shop and facility to include servicing vehicle lifts, pumps, and like equipment as needed

·       Perform additional duties as assigned or required

Works closely with the Maintenance Manager, General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Director of Maintenance

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·       Good organizational skills with attention to timeliness and details

·       Proficient in computer skills to ensure electronic repair work orders are completed correctly

·       Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behavior related to such

·       Ability to attend safety and vehicle repair course as may be required

·       Willing to follow all company policies, procedures, and regulations

·       Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

·       Ability to complete full vehicle inspections

·       Must be able to conduct yourself in a mature and professional manner

·       Regular attendance is required

Required Education and Experience

·    High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent

·    Must possess a valid CDL driver’s license or obtain one within 120 days from date of hire

·    1- 4 years automotive mechanical experience preferred

·    2+ years training, experience or a combination of both preferred

·    Possess & maintain 4 ASE certifications

·    Experience using hand and power tools

Provide own air and hand tools as required

Working Conditions

·    This job operates in a professional office and shop environment

·    May be subject to adverse weather conditions inside the shop or

during times of travel

·    Ability to work flexible hours as required

Physical Requirements

·    May require sitting in front of, and operating, a computer for extended periods

·    Requires close visual acuity when operating a computer

·    Able to lift 75 lbs., bend, stoop, crawl, and reach above their head

·    Must be able to communicate with others and comprehend instructions

·    Requires light lifting and carrying

·    Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers

·    Must be able to move around an office environment

·    Must pass pre-employment DOT physical and maintain valid DOT medical card

·    Be drug free and subject to Random Drug and Alcohol Testing

Travel

·    May require local and overnight travel

·    May be required to drive a company or rental vehicle (failure to pass an annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background screen may result in termination of employment)
