Job Description:

This is a dedicated Senior Instructional Designer position and hiring is dependent upon client approval and government agency clearance.   The is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and updating content focusing on learning experiences to address company and client needs.  The position is REMOTE. However, travel may be required on a rare occasion. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 


  • Ensure eLearning and Instructor-led instructional materials meet 508 compliance standards and all other Government-provided education and training requirements. 

  • Demonstrated experience managing own projects and timelines.

  • Ability to work with limited direction in a project environment that will often need definition to proactively accomplish the mission requirements.

  • Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.

  • Experience working with federal government clients.

  • Responsible for developing and revising asynchronous eLearning, microlearning, and blended courses through the ADDIE process. May be called to develop/update instructor-led courses as well.

  • Must have a solid understanding of instructional design principles.

  • Manage own course development projects, including schedule, communication plan, and risk register, for example.

  • Work on 3-4 eLearning projects simultaneously and at varying stages of development.

  • Demonstrate formal and professional communication skills when working with stakeholders (both internally and with the Government) at all times.

  • Experience with courseware rapid development tools, particularly Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline), and Captivate.

  • Experience creating systems training.

  • Creating videos is a plus.

  • Other support may also include the creation of templates, job aids, process documentation, or supporting tuition assistance program, mandatory training support, or the evaluations team, and reporting progress to leadership weekly, monthly, or as needed.

  • Work samples and references, if possible.

  • Manage Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop learning content.

  • dentify changes in regulatory guidance, industry standards, and applicable external benchmarks and how they impact course materials.

 

Necessary Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

·       Knowledge and application of instructional design industry standards and best practices

·       Experience applying the ADDIE model to instructional design.

·       Ability to apply the Kirkpatrick Model of Evaluation in instructional design.

·       Experience using SharePoint as the primary source of file saving and sharing.

·       Knowledge and application of adult learning theory

·       Experience leading instructional design teams and projects

·       Strong technical and creative writing skills

·       Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.

·       Creative problem-solving skills.

·       Organizational and planning skills

·       Ability to work independently or with little direction, when required.

·       Articulate what the learner’s (customer) experience means to you as a designer.

·       Be a problem solver, not a problem creator.

·       Challenge the status quo.

·       Share information about new learning approaches and changes in the industry

·       Take ownership to make our company the best place ever to work.

 Education & Experience:

 


  • 5 years’ experience with instructional design and development. (10+ is strongly preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree, from an accredited college or university, with emphasis on instructional design, educational technology, or related academic discipline.  (A master’s degree in instructional design, instructional leadership, or related field is preferred)

  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass a government background check.
