The Learning Partner is a strategic role dedicated to aligning employee development with the firm's goals. This seasoned professional will work closely with Business Units (BUs), People Partners and the Global Learning team to identify development needs, implement career and learning paths and leverage innovative learning solutions. A strong understanding of the learning ecosystem, including strategy, assessment, career paths and instructional methodologies, is essential. This role will drive learning initiatives that support the growth and success of the firm's workforce and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
Business Unit Liaison
Trusted Advisor:
Act as a trusted advisor on all matters related to learning and development.
Be a driver of learning culture within the BU and an advocate for innovation and L&D best practices.
Strategic Alignment: Understand each BU's business model, strategy, and growth plan to identify and prioritize learning needs.
BU Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact and communicator between BUs and the Global Learning team, ensuring alignment and responsiveness.
People Partner Collaboration: Work closely with BU People Partners to assess and address BU-specific learning requirements.
Communication Oversight: Review and approve all learning communications for relevant BUs, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with BU goals.
Reporting: Provide BUs with necessary reporting on learning participation, engagement, and outcomes.
Training Strategy & Budget
Ownership of BU Training Strategy: Develop and implement the training strategy for each assigned BU, ensuring alignment with both BU and company goals.
Budget Management: Monitor and manage the BU's training budget, ensuring all learning initiatives are cost-effective and aligned with strategic priorities.
L&D Operations
Course Design Collaboration: Partner with Portfolio Leads to develop and refine courses that meet BU needs, ensuring effective communication and feedback loops.
Delivery Coordination: Work with the Delivery Team to ensure courses reflect BU culture and are well-received by participants; oversee participant and instructor engagement.
Competencies, Skills & Learning Paths
Competency Awareness: Maintain a deep understanding of the BU's performance management framework and expected behaviors to identify gaps and support growth.
Skill & Knowledge Assessment: Collaborate with People Partners to assess the current knowledge, skills, and capabilities of individuals or teams within the BU.
Learning Path Ownership: Lead the design, development, storage, and adoption of learning paths that align with BU objectives and individual career growth.
Course Matching: Leverage a strong knowledge of the full course catalog to recommend and align training resources with BU needs.
Assessment & Innovation
Course Effectiveness Evaluation: Continuously assess course effectiveness through operational reporting, employee engagement surveys, and course evaluations; apply insights to drive improvement.
Innovation in Learning: Foster a culture of innovation within L&D, exploring new approaches, methodologies, and technologies to enhance learning experiences.
Key Requirements
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in learning and development with a focus on strategy, assessment and innovation, ideally within a professional services or consulting environment.
Learning & Development Expertise: In-depth knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional methodologies, and learning theories.
Proven Program Design: Demonstrated success in designing, managing, and implementing large-scale learning programs that drive measurable impact.
Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills, with a track record of managing multiple initiatives and deadlines.
Analytical Skills: Skilled in interpreting data and applying insights to refine and improve learning initiatives.
Communication & Relationship-Building: Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
Passion for Learning: A commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the organization.
Benefits Summary:
Full-time Positions and Part-time Positions Over 30 hours
Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. Compensation Statement:
The salary range is $150,000 - $185,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
