The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production related to their designated work area for the shift including goals/targets, quality, training, and data recording.
Duties and Responsibilities
Creates and sustain a safe work environment
Adheres to and ensure employees are following all safety requirements
Completes accident reports immediately after accident happens and notify the safety coordinator, production manager/supervisor, plant manager and HR
Responsible for quality of work performed, inspect 1 st off parts to ensure quality
Verify changes in designated area when needed
Adhere to attendance policy
Responds to production related issues, orders, and production demands
Meets or exceeds production targets
Conduct weekly shift meetings, when necessary, with employees to review safety and general notices
Read and complete shift pass down reports, when needed
Ensure all training requirements are met for employees
Assist in performance evaluations when needed in a timely manner
Provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.
Responsible to building a strong team through motivation, coaching and mentoring
Assist with projects as assigned by manager/supervisor
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years production experience, preferably most recent in a lead role
High school diploma
Knowledgeable with and/or able to learn key areas of responsibility
Ability to train employees to perform job requirements
Must be able to handle different situations that will arise including emergency situations
Must be tactful in dealing with different personality types
Forklift certified by Elkhart Plastics/Myers certified trainer
CPR certified if required
Possess adequate computer skills
Good communication and organization skills
Ability to read and write proficiently
Working Conditions
Able to work in hot humid environment for extended periods of time. This job is in a typical manufacturing environment, to include:
Ovens, torches, and rotating tools
Forklifts and other moving machinery
Loud work environment

The employee will be walking and standing the majority of the time as this position requires a continuous presence on the manufacturing floor.
