The Production Manager provides leadership and support for the implementation, development and direction of production teams. In addition, manages manufacturing quality, efficiencies, labor costs, plant safety, personnel, scheduling, sanitation, system issues, consumption, and yields.
Job Responsibilities
Monitor and improve productivity, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and cost-conscious manner.
Develop and create training plans to maximize workforce capability.
Leading compliance, as well as environmental Health & Safety efforts in support of plant goals.
Manage and coach supervisors to strengthen and enhance their management skills.
Anticipate events/issues/situations and rectify them before problems develop.
Function as a team member with other plant and company departments.
Lead and motivate by example.
Administer an open door policy with employees to address issues, problems and concerns.
Utilize employee feedback to assist in the decision-making process.
Challenge manufacturing systems for continuous improvement.
Administer daily production meetings to address issues and organize shift changes. Provide input and guidance on new equipment purchases.
Manage special projects to completion, assess results and provide feedback. Act as a resource center of information for other departments.
Maintain adequate staffing.
Assist with hiring, selection, advancement, transfer, promotion and termination decisions for the department.
Work closely with the quality control department, assisting with information gathering and follow up.
Maintain accurate records. Ensure a safe work environment.

Required Education and Experience
Must possess one of the following:
High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years production management experience.
Or a completed degree from an accredited institution and 5 years production management experience.
Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field.
5 or more year's production management experience
SAP experience
MES experience.
In depth understanding of production principles and general plant operations.
Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience. Ability to administer a proactive management approach.
Ability to provide leadership, support, communication and direction to production supervisors, as well as line personnel.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Working Conditions
• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
• Product weight: up to 100 lbs
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
• Use of motor skills to safely drive tow motors or other motorized vehicles in tight quarters.
