Primary Responsibilities:



  • Tabling and canvassing on campus to reach fellow students and help them get ready to vote, including registering to vote, helping students sign up to vote by mail, and sharing issues that mater most to young people.

  • Presenting in classes on elections, voter registration, and civic leadership.

  • Supporting events including National Voter Registration Day, Presidential Debate Watch Party, Voter Education Week, and Election Day, and other voter registration activities.

  • Planning and organizing at least one voter engagement event/activity.

  • Weekly meetings and trainings on civic leadership, elections, and youth voter engagement.

  • Become a certified Volunteer Deputy Registrar to assist students with registering to vote.

  • Remain non-partisan and not openly supporting any candidate up for election during events and activities affiliated with this position.

The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.A paper copy of the report will be provided upon request. Sul Ross State University Alpine Campus is in the Scenic Davis Mountains of West Texas, is a member of the Texas State University System, is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees, and has an enrollment of approximately 2,000 students of campus in Alpine, Texas. All RGC students hold an Associate degree from an accredited institution or they have completed 42 semester credit hours of transferrable work.
