Job Summary:

The Department of Theatre Arts & Dance in the College of Liberal Arts, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice, Academic Professional Track (formerly NTT).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Teach courses in lighting technology, lighting design, and special topics in areas of expertise.

  • Serve as lighting supervisor and master electrician for season of four mainstage shows and two dance concerts.

  • Aid in the recruitment efforts of the Design & Technology area.


Required Qualifications:



  • MFA in Lighting or Sound Design or related theatre design field.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience teaching lighting/sound design and lighting/sound technology.

  • Experience mentoring undergraduate designers.

  • Strong secondary area of emphasis in design/technology (scenery, projections,new media).

  • Experience in Production Management.
