Position Title: Seasonal Production Control Clerk

Location: Champaign, IL

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm - Peak Season Mandatory OT - (March-May)

Compensation: $20.00 per hour

YOUR OPPORTUNITY:

The Production Control Clerk is responsible for supporting and monitoring the on-going operations of the manufacturing facility of all product lines being offered. This includes daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting. An above average knowledge for computer systems is required in this position to properly monitor and analyze the daily operations of the facility. Seasonal demand may require work on Saturdays and or Sundays, if applicable.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING ON A DAILY BASIS:

• Act as a liaison between customer service and manufacturing management by communicating as needed with the customer service team and internal customers regarding order specifications
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of computer equipment utilized in tracking manufacturing. This includes continuous training and assistance to press operators as needed for movements, etc.
• Continually educate yourself on new or improved Herff Jones business systems. Seek out alternative processes and improvements to all job functions
• Maintain regular production statistics and communication for such statistics. This would include maintenance of electronic bulletin boards and hard copy distribution of reports
• Monitor scheduled dates to assure work is completed by the scheduled dates
• Participate in cross-training in other departments as needed

• Prepare work tickets for manufacturing. This may include creation of box labels to properly identify products
• Create and maintain spreadsheets as needed for data collection
• Schedule orders based upon the most current scheduling policy. This includes manufacturing completion dates as well as acknowledged ship dates. Adjusting schedules for open work orders and manipulating them on the production floor
• Report scheduling conflicts to Production Scheduling Supervisor or Production Control Manager when they cannot be resolved
• Perform routine transactions utilizing the Herff Jones manufacturing business system. Examples of items are inventory adjustments, process movements, job creation, job completions, and job tracking
• Other responsibilities as needed and assigned related to the Herff Jones business

• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities
• Possess critical thinking skills to analyze issues and make appropriate decisions upon circumstances
• Work effectively in a multitude of environments
• Flexibility to work in other departments as necessary
• Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited University Preferred
• Process Management/Improvement
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

• Regularly required to stand; use of hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
• Frequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Ability to lift/move 50lbs
