JOB SUMMARY:
The Receiving Team Member is vital to the smooth operation of our receiving process, ensuring materials are accurately and promptly unloaded, inspected, and documented for production. This role includes monitoring inbound shipments to meet service level agreements (SLAs), coordinating with carriers, and escalating issues as necessary. The Receiving Team Member works collaboratively with warehouse, inventory, and production teams, ensuring timely material availability and maintaining compliance with safety and quality standards.
SHIFT DETAILS:
Shift Schedule: Continental shift from Thursday to Sunday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with Thursday being a rotating day.
Training Schedule: Training will be conducted on a separate schedule until the official shift launch.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receiving Operations
Shipment Unloading: Safely unload shipments using electric jacks and other material handling equipment.
Material Inspection: Verify incoming materials for accuracy, quality, and damage, reporting any discrepancies or defects.
Documentation: Accurately log receipt transactions into inventory systems (ERP or WMS).
Inbound Carrier Coordination: Assist inbound carriers during delivery and ensure materials are received on time.
Timely Receipt: Monitor inbound orders to ensure they meet SLAs, escalating delays or issues as necessary.
Labeling & Storage: Properly label received materials and coordinate storage or transfer to production.
Inventory Integrity & Quality Assurance
Discrepancy Reporting: Identify and address inconsistencies between packing slips, purchase orders, and delivered goods.
System Updates: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all received materials.
Cycle Counts: Participate in inventory cycle counting to ensure stock accuracy.
Process Improvement: Contribute to enhancements in receiving processes to boost efficiency and reduce errors.
Collaboration & Communication
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse, quality, and production teams to ensure smooth material flow.
Internal Communication: Notify relevant teams of material availability and escalate issues affecting production timelines.
Reporting: Share regular updates on receiving metrics, discrepancies, and SLA compliance with supervisors.
Compliance & Safety
Safety Standards: Follow all health and safety regulations, including safe operation of electric jacks and other equipment.
Procedural Compliance: Ensure all receiving activities align with company and regulatory requirements.
Audit Readiness: Keep documentation organized and audit-ready at all times.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred: Experience in receiving, warehousing, or inventory management, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills
Ability to operate electric jacks and other material handling equipment.
Proficiency with inventory management systems (e.g., ERP or WMS).
Knowledge of receiving documentation (e.g., packing slips, purchase orders).
Basic Microsoft Office skills for record-keeping and reporting.
Soft Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in receiving and documentation.
Effective communication skills for cross-department collaboration and escalation.
Problem-solving ability to address inbound shipment or material issues.
Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements
Physical ability to lift materials up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Certification in operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts) preferred.
Understanding of and adherence to workplace safety standards.
