Job Description: Magnetic Technologies Corporation
Brief Summary of Position:
This position will develop and monitor procedures to improve product throughput and to conduct a wide range of engineering work including: welding, etching, brazing, plating, machining, assembly, painting and testing procedures, initiating new parts, introducing new process procedures and general engineering.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions of Position:
Monitor manufacturing processes to assure smooth operation and product flow.
Troubleshoot various processes, material or equipment issues.
Create/assist with new product routings.
Work with environmental and environmental metrics reporting.
Initiate corrective actions to improve Quality and Productivity Performance.
Assist with work center loading and capacity planning.
Work with the AS9100 quality management system
Supervisor Responsibilities:
This position will not have any direct reports, however may take on a supervisor / manager role as it relates to project work.
Required Technical/Job Experience and Qualifications:
Three to five (3-5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge and experience with two (2) of the four: welding, complex assemblies, machining practices both CNC and manual.
Two (2) plus years of general Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment which may include, tooling design, costing, vendor interface, production experience, machining, customer contact, tool room management, quality management, lean or six sigma.
Possess a mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently.
D.O.E experience
Blue print reading
Process and Design FEMA’s
Develop control plans
5S and Lean Manufacturing
Procedure and instruction writing; and flow charting
Computer experience to include: SolidWorks, Excel, Access and Word.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may also be considered.
Beneficial Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience with ERP/MRP systems for engineering functions.
Application and practice using lean and Six Sigma tools
Enthusiasm and adaptability, able to acquire new skills and knowledge quickly
Strong communication skills to facilitate productive interaction with employees and vendors.
Strong personal organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
Can demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and improvement
Strong analytical/reasoning and problem-solving skills

Working Conditions:
Standard work week is Monday through Friday, hours to be consistent with business unit; some off hours work may be expected
Working in office and activities in the production environment
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
Standing, sitting and/or working at a computer for extended periods of time
