At Mass General Brigham Digital, we pride ourselves on our ability to create maximum strategic, clinical, and operational value from established and emergent technologies for our patients, care teams, researchers, and employees. Digital health will not only enhance the equity and efficiency of healthcare delivery, but it will also help make medicine more personalized and precise.
We recognize that increasing value and continually improving quality while maintaining an inclusive focus are essential to organizational excellence, and we invite you to join us on this journey. The work we do in Digital is a strategic imperative, and there is a strong and growing understanding of how together we will transform Mass General Brigham in innovative and impactful ways.
We are building the Mass General Brigham Cancer Center bringing together experts from Mass General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital to offer world-class treatments in all sub-types of cancer for both adult and pediatric patients. Digital technologies, from the electronic health record and data/analytics to clinical trials management platforms and virtual care tools are critical to support delivering the highest quality and most efficient care. Further, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence/machine learning, digital pathology, and bioinformatics are critical to research, discovery and increasingly clinical care delivery.
Radiation Oncology is a computationally intense subspecialty of cancer medicine. Every patient is treated according to a personalized treatment plan that takes the interactions of the treatment beams with the patient-individual anatomy into account and maximizes the dose to the tumor while sparing the surrounding healthy tissues. Image guidance is used to target the beams during daily treatment delivery. The computer systems that control the treatment machines and optimize the planning and delivery of the treatment run on big compute clusters and in the cloud. The Radiation Oncology Enterprise at Mass General Brigham manages an infrastructure of close to 300 software systems to run Radiation Oncology operations.
