Working under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator and adhering to established hospital policies and procedures, the technician will conduct experiments focused on the mechanisms of tolerance and kidney injury. This role involves calculating, transcribing, and analyzing data, as well as conducting literature searches under the guidance of a supervisor. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to long-term career development within our team. There is potential for this individual to assume a dedicated area of research based on their skills and experience.
Under general supervision, performs a variety of laboratory experiments following established methodologies and routine tests.
Prepares and maintains tissue cultures.
Mice Tumor model establishment, mice monitoring and data collection.
Basic molecular biology as directed by supervisor.
Record data, summarizes, and analyzes results using basic statistics.
Maintains supplies inventory in accordance with departmental procedures.
Perform ordering of routine supplies and sundries.
Discusses progress of work regularly with supervisor.
Performs variety of animal procedures following approved protocols and institutional guidelines.
All other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.
• 1 year of experience working in a research laboratory preferred.
• Proficiency in basic lab techniques and principles of molecular biology required.
• Knowledge of various scientific databases and publications preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, detail oriented.
• Sound degree of computer literacy.
• Ability to methodically record data and to analyze data using basic statistics.
• Ability to perform a variety of routine tests and prioritize work.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to demonstrate professionalism.
