A DAY IN THE LIFE



Enthalpy Analytical, is part of the larger organization, Montrose Environmental Group, is comprised of 9 laboratories servicing air, water, soil and toxicology testing. Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance. For our families and communities, we strive to protect the air they breathe, the water they drink, and the soil on which they live.


We are looking for a full-time Analyst to join our VOA team at our environmental lab in Orange, CA. This position is a temporary role with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position based on performance and business needs.



Pay Range: $21-$25/hour


Schedule: Available to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, split shifts - a flexible schedule on a full time basis


As a key member of the laboratory team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:


  • • Analyzing samples by GC-MS

  • • Perform and evaluate ICALs, daily QA/QC and sample data

  • • Troubleshoot, maintain and perform instrument repairs

  • • Prepare standards

  • • Maintain reagents and supplies inventory and order replacements

  • • Keep workstation clean and organized


YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS



To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required


  • • Requires a BA/BS in science

  • • Requires at least 10 years of GCMS experience in an environmental lab

  • • Intimate knowledge of various VOA methods including EPA 524, 624 and 8260

  • • Must have extensive experience working with a LIMS system

  • • Intimate knowledge of Agilent GC/MS's as well as P&T concentrators and autosamplers.

  • • Position requires attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and a desire to work both as part of a team and independently

  • • Must be able to work in a stationary position for entire shift duration

  • • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 lbs independently and 50 lbs using assisted lifting equipment

PREFERRED SKILLS


  • • Method development, process improvement, SOP review/revision.

  • • general lab practices and lab safety

  • • Must be flexible in work schedule (including weekends) and able to work overtime

  • • Well organized and have an attention to detail

  • • Able to multi-task

  • • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
