Brooks Automation is looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Engineer, eager to integrate into our Culture and be a key team contributor. This engineer will work with a team in the development of new generation controls solutions and engage in analyses of complex field and manufacturing challenges.



What You Will Do:



In a typical week, the priorities for the individual and the team are defined in our on-line project system. Long-term development projects will progress, along with questions or issues may arise from a customer or from our operations team requiring a quick investigation and response. Also, provide inputs at multiple design reviews, hands on prototyping or testing may be done in our labs, and attending a 'Lunch & Learn' seminar.


  • Work with a team to develop new PCBs for system and robot controllers and develop Engineering Design Specifications (EDS).


  • New or Re-spin PCBA Designs may have Serial Communication Protocols which are: Ethernet, UART, SPI, I2C, and supports FPGA, Flash memory, DC/DC Power Supplies, and In-Rush Controllers.


  • Work will include technical presentations and cross-functional issue resolution.


  • Ensure proper documentation, consistent use of processes and systems, and engineering design standards are followed.


  • Work collaboratively with mechanical and software engineers on complete product solutions.





What You Will Bring:



  • BSEE with a minimum of 5 years of experience, OR an MSEE with a minimum of 3 years of experience.


  • Spice modeling and analysis, or equivalent.


  • Digital circuit design with Microcontrollers.


  • Peripheral integration of UART, SPI or I2C, etc....


  • DC-DC power supply circuits.


  • Component selection and data sheet interpretation.


  • Handy in the use of standard lab equipment and tools.


  • Prototyping and debugging circuits in a lab.


  • Excellent troubleshooting skill for complex board designs.


  • Standard Windows applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).


  • Occasional travel, < 5%.


  • Competency in Altium preferred.


  • Cable design preferred.


  • FPGA concepts preferred.


  • C, C++ concepts preferred.
