Summary

An analyst position representing Northern Trust within the industry and providing advocacy in relation to industry change together with deep research into the FinTech sector to support business incubation and commercialization throughout the group. The position requires a commercially astute individual to assist in the identification and closing of new revenue opportunities linked to our innovation agenda. The role incorporates senior level interaction within Northern Trust, together with external senior interaction with industry bodies, regulators and the FinTech community in order to positively influence market change in line with Northern Trust's strategic direction. The role also calls for the partner to

leverage intelligence and research to identity opportunities to support Northern Trust's Asset Servicing business leaders and Management Group with strategic decisions within the enterprise.

Major Duties


  • Actively engage with industry leadership, partners, regulators and standards organizations via in-person meetings, industry group participation and coordinated responses to contribute to the shaping of market change in line with Northern Trust's strategic vision

  • Support the on-going development of a holistic digital asset strategy that is compliant with current regulations and adaptable for future growth

  • Inform the bank's strategic approach to technical innovation, investments and deployment through the development of strategic relationships with financial services firms, technology firms and challenger organizations to deliver revenue, marketing and capabilities that provide commercial impact for the firm

  • Develop scalable, market-leading innovations aligned to our digital asset strategy through the identification and framing of new business opportunities and use cases

  • Provide active leadership and research to capture and inform partners on emerging trends, opportunities and threats to Northern Trust's enterprise (Through research and external engagement, identify opportunities and threats together with macro industry themes affecting Northern Trust's enterprise)

  • Shape ongoing research into the threats, impacts and opportunities from new technologies, market disruptors and challenger firms to inform strategic decisions across the enterprise

  • Distribute, through multiple channels, research findings to Northern Trust's partner engagements

  • Demonstrate thought leadership in the form of internal partner education and the representation of Northern Trust's vision and strategy in external speaking engagements and the development of thought leadership

  • Ongoing assurance of Digital Assets & Financial Markets team-framed initiatives

Qualifications


  • Proven industry skills with a track record of identifying and capturing industry trends

  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships across internal enterprise and industry bodies

  • Ability to influence and persuade at all levels

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required

  • Ability to work independently

  • Extremely proficient in Powerpoint, Excel and Word

Experience Required

A College or University degree or relevant proven work experience is required.

Salary Range:
$95,565 - $129,030
