Location: York, Pennsylvania
Position Overview:
The Inbound Freight Specialist position is responsible for daily manipulation of inbound schedules to ensure receiving capacity is utilized effectively, while also focusing on maintaining budget limitations for merchandising departments.
Responsibilities:
• Schedule/Reset inbound deliveries to all distribution centers
• Maintain/Update dock schedules as business needs arise
• Maintain Excel spreadsheets for various KPI's (deliveries scheduled, deliveries reset, etc)
• Report statistics regarding scheduling and provide feedback/solutions towards necessary issues or changes
• Communicate any priority loads and department routing changes from the Supervisor and Merchandise team daily
• Develop and maintain active relationships with Support Center, DC Management/Receiving teams, and Carriers to provide cohesive working environment with focus on customer service
• Handle warehouse transfers from start to finish (build load in TMS, tender, schedule, approve billing)
• Complete additional responsibilities determined as business needs arise
Qualification:
• High School diploma or Equivalent required
• Minimum of two years' experience in a transportation/distribution environment required
• Must have the ability to work independently and work in a team setting
• Efficient planning, prioritization and implementation of detailed instructions required
• Strong Communication skills via email and phone required
• Intermediate working experience in AS400 and Excel and other MS Office programs
• Ability to multitask in a fast paced and detailed-oriented environment
• Ability to work flexible schedule which may include evening/weekends
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit for an extended period of time at a desk
• Ability to work on a computer for an extended period of time
• Ability to see, hear, and speak regularly
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
