This position is onsite at the Corporate Headquarters located in Kenosha, WI.

The Design Engineer will develop 3D CAD drawings, create prototypes and perform testing in support of product development. Support production and QA with dimensional analysis, drawing maintenance and support, and creation and management of ECNs. Complete projects including the design and development of new products, as well as maintenance of existing product designs and related documentation. This is an Entry-Level position.



Responsibilities


• Coordinate multiple complex design assignments that may support multiple project teams.
• Develop detailed design 3D models, along with required 2D drawings, layouts and tolerance stackups.
• Transfer detailed engineering drawings from 3-D to 2-D modeling.
• Ensure engineering drawings are up to date and accurate and help maintain the CAD library.


• Thoroughly document product designs and project documentation to ensure compliance to applicable standards.
• Prepare technical reports and project documentation including conclusions and recommendations for future work.


• Assist engineer(s) in designing and performing laboratory testing to prove out concepts.
• Coordinate with vendors and in-house production to refine design for manufacturability and evaluate cost tradeoffs.
• Work closely with QA to ensure that components and finished goods are checked, resolving issues as necessary.
• Collaborate with the RCI team on improvement projects to bring down production costs and improve manufacturing efficiencies.
• Perform all other engineering related tasks as assigned by management.



Qualifications


• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or other related degree


• 0 - 3 years of related experience - Entry-Level position



• Strong CAD and drafting skills, preferably SolidWorks and/or Catia


• Understanding of basic design principles along with demonstrated ability in design analysis and problem solving techniques


• Broad knowledge of mechanical engineering principles


• Ability to carry out routine product tasks and/or process enhancements using basic theory, engineering principles, investigative techniques, analysis, and judgment


• Knowledge of metal fabrication, machine shop, and polymer molding processes


• Ability to clearly explain and discuss technical design issues to broad base of clients and levels within the organization


• Strong team player with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams


• Self-motivated and able to work independently


• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects while maintaining timelines and meeting deadlines


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, etc.


• Hands-on tool experience is preferred
