Position Overview:

The Drafting Supervisor will oversee all drafting and design activities, ensuring the highest standards in technical drawing, compliance with industry standards, and effective team supervision. This role requires a strong understanding of drafting standards, proficiency in relevant software, and the ability to lead and mentor a team of designers and drafters.

Key Responsibilities:



  1. Drafting and Geometry Standards:

    1. Create and maintain all drafting standards and geometry standards, including API 6A, ANSI, and GD&T.

    2. Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and best practices.



  2. Software Proficiency:



    1. Utilize Office, SAP, TeamCenter, NX, and AutoCAD for design and drafting tasks.

    2. Stay updated with the latest versions and features of design software.


  1. Team Supervision:



    1. Supervise and provide leadership to all drafters and designers.

    2. Assign tasks, manage workload, and ensure timely completion of projects.


  1. Training and Development:



    1. Provide training and mentorship to junior designers, fostering their professional growth and skill development.

    2. Develop training materials and conduct workshops to enhance team capabilities.


  1. Drawing and Design Creation:



    1. Supervise and create detailed, assembly, layout, and installation drawings.

    2. Review and approve all drawings for accuracy and completeness.


  1. Project Management:



    1. Coordinate with project managers and engineers to ensure design objectives are met.

    2. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.


  1. Quality Control:



    1. Implement and maintain quality control processes for all drafting activities.

    2. Conduct regular audits of design work to ensure compliance with standards.


  1. Collaboration and Communication:



    1. Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, manufacturing, and procurement, to ensure seamless project execution.

    2. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.


  1. Innovation and Improvement:



    1. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and quality.

    2. Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in design and drafting technology.


  1. Documentation and Reporting:


    1. Maintain accurate records of all design activities and standards.

    2. Prepare and present reports on team performance and project status to senior management.

Qualifications:


  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.

  2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in drafting and design, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.

  3. Proficiency in Office, SAP, TeamCenter, NX, and AutoCAD.

  4. Strong knowledge of drafting standards and geometry standards (API 6A, ANSI, GD&T).

  5. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  6. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  7. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

 

Work Environment:


  1. Office-based with occasional visits to manufacturing or project sites.
