Functions as a Research Administrative Assistant in the coordination and monitoring of daily administrative activities and services in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery area of research; manages, coordinates and oversees all logistics and efficient running of the Anatomy Skills Lab used jointly by the Department of Otolaryngology and Department of Ophthalmology in support of resident and fellow educational training to include: development and coordination of yearly lab course schedule; development of lab protocols and procedures; orders and maintains lab supply stock for courses; schedules routine lab cleaning, biohazard disposal and lab equipment servicing; maintains equipment service agreements with vendors; identifies and resolves operational concerns and ensures appropriate actions are taken.
In addition, coordinates and oversees daily business functions and provides administrative support to the division of research in the Department of Otolaryngology including; prepares and distributes agendas and meeting minutes for weekly Research Seminars and monthly Research Committee meetings; onboards and ensures all requirements are met for all new post doc, research assistant and research contributor hires to include background checks, drug screening, CBL completion, badge and IHIS access; manages the Research Contributor program guaranteeing all College of Medicine requirements are fulfilled; coordinates all aspects of the research visiting professor program to include: arranges travel and hotel logistics, development of visit itinerary, schedules meetings with faculty, residents and fellows, arranges welcome dinner, processes honorariums and reimbursements; coordinates data collection for R25 grant application process; ensures all PI's who require a Promotion and Tenure summary are completed and turned into the Faculty Affairs Coordinator each fiscal year utilizing the REDCap survey; coordinates and organizes logistics for research meetings, workshops and team events; assists the Educational Program Coordinator in the execution of the Vestibular-Oriented Research (VOR) Conference held every two years; provides administrative support to vice chair of research with calendar management, scheduling of meetings, travel arrangements and processing expense reimbursements.
