The Assistant Director of Business Services assists with management of a broad range of business functions in Carolina Union (Union) and within a Student Affairs Business Hub that includes Carolina Union Student Organizations (CUSO). Responsibilities include assisting with financial management in a multifaceted organization predominantly funded by student fees. Other sources of revenue include endowment, gift, and trust; independently analyzing and resolving issues and problems that necessitate input from and collaboration of external sources; and communicating information involving complex business and finance policies and principles to stakeholders, and supervision of staff. The primary functions of this position include financial and budget management responsibilities and assisting with fiscal oversight for all departments within the Union.
The Assistant Director of Business Services also provides critical support for division-wide initiatives in Student Affairs, including budget preparation, implementing institutional and divisional finance policies, and contributing as a member of the Student Affairs Finance Leadership Team. This position reports to the Director of Business Services for the Union.

Ability to demonstrate knowledge of accrual accounting and financial forecasting.
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration.
Knowledge and demonstrated experience in PeopleSoft.
Three (3) or more years of sustained and progressively complex experience and decision making in the areas of finance, budgeting, accounting, strategy, administration, and facilities management in a complex organization, preferably in higher education.
Knowledge of university, state and federal policies and laws affecting business operations.
Experience managing and developing staff.
Experience in a University environment.
Demonstrated financial reporting analysis and higher-level decision making.
Manage and report utilizing a complex chart of accounts and financial structure.
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
