Winthrop University, a highly ranked, public, comprehensive university, announces a search for Adjunct Professors in Theatre and Dance, in the Department of Theatre and Dance, within the College of Visual and Performing Arts. The assignment commences academic year 20-21, and subsequent assignments are determined on a semester by semester basis.
Winthrop enrolls a diverse student body, which closely mirrors the racial and ethnic diversity in the state, and has recently received accolades for its success in graduating students of color.
Adjunct faculty teaching undergraduate courses at Winthrop University are expected to hold a master's degree or higher in the teaching disciplines. In order to teach graduate courses at Winthrop University, faculty must have an earned doctorate / terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. Winthrop University gives primary consideration to the highest earned degree in the discipline. In cases of exceptional and significant professional experiences, the said experience may be considered in lieu of the terminal or master's degree if the candidate possesses at least 18 hours of graduate credits in the discipline.
