The Senior Training Associate is a professional position based in the North Carolina Institute of Public Health in the Department of Public Health Leadership and Practice at Gillings School of Global Public Health. The individual in this position is responsible for a broad range of duties related to planning, implementing, and coordinating public health continuing education and workforce development programs. The Senior Training Associate is required to interact with public health professionals from the local, state and national human services sectors, with a particular emphasis on collaborations with local and state governmental public health agencies in North Carolina. The individual in this role will supervise the development and delivery of a variety of public health training programs delivered in face-to-face classroom settings as well as distance learning formats.
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent educational or instructional activities relevant to the teaching assignment, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. In addition, the position minimums should satisfy any accreditation requirements in the specified area of instruction.
* Ability to work independently within a team-based structure to accomplish goals and objectives according to project timelines.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills..
* Detail oriented.
* Prior experience in workforce development and training, preferably within the public health sector.
* Demonstrated skills in project management.
* Masters in Public Health or related discipline.
* At least 3 years experience with project management and event planning including managing project budgets
* Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Zoom and other Microsoft programs
* Competence with using project management tools such as Asana
* At least 2 years experience designing, implementing and leading trainings for adult learners
* In-depth expertise in adult learning theory
* Demonstrated expertise in leadership, management, and career coaching
