The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is currently seeking a full time Research Assistant 2 to work in Miami. The Research Assistant 2 (A) assists with and explores innovations to research and strives to improve implementation and family outcomes. The Research Assistant 2 (A) ensures compliance with University policies, rules, and regulations to meet federal, state, and local standards pertaining to safety and ethics.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Plans and implements research experiments, according to research protocols, to assure high-quality scientific results in support of applicable project goals.
2. Assists with assessing the feasibility of implementing innovations.
3. Assesses data trends and develops reports and presentations.
4. Supports the initiation of new research by reviewing and synthesizing literature.
5. Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
6. Assists in the preparation of scientific papers, reports, and manuscripts.
7. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Functions
- Assist in participant screening and recruitment efforts, including contacting, scheduling, and confirming participants as per study protocols. Meet with study team members to discuss strategies to improve recruitment and retention.
- Enroll participants following study protocols under the supervision of the PI and/or clinical research coordinator/manager.
- Enter research data accurately and timely into designated databases or software systems.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency through careful validation and verification processes.
- Maintain organized records of all data entry activities and ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Prepare research materials and assist in data collection during research sessions.
- Perform literature reviews and assist in preparing research reports and manuscripts.
- Coordinate logistics for research meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
- Assist in the procurement of research supplies and equipment as needed.
- Participate in all training activities.
- Support grant reporting requirements by compiling necessary data and documentation.
- Collaborate with team members, including researchers, clinicians, and administrative staff.
- Communicate project updates, milestones, and challenges to the project team clearly and timely.
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with study participants and internal and external collaborators.
- Make observations from the field that can inform future studies on this population.
- Make suggestions to improve current and future procedures and practices
- Participate and present research findings in lab meetings and journal club activities.
