RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Staff Engineer (Machine Learning) in Phoenix, AZ.

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and talented Staff Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. In this role, the Staff Engineer will lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge AI and machine learning solutions that drive our company's products and services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy scalable AI systems that solve complex business problems. The successful candidate must have significant experience in building and delivering AI solutions at scale. We are also looking for a candidate that can lead a team and enable them to deliver on aggressive timelines.

Project Information:
The AI core team supports several AI/ML based projects in different capacities depending upon the needs of the project. We also build and support the primary AI chat platform (chatRSG) that provides secure access to Generative AI for our entire organization. The AI core team also leads the AI center of excellence and will provide guidance, frameworks, tooling, and education on AI technologies.

Principal Responsibilities:


  • Provides technical direction related to project deliverables for both on-shore and off-shore team members

  • Contributes to project deliverables by performing software development and/or system administration tasks as needed

  • Reviews business requirements and technical analysis to develop system implementation approaches designed to meet business objectives, while also consulting with Solution/Enterprise Architects

  • Actively leads efforts to ensure code quality and coding standards are met, including but not limited to pull request reviews, formal code reviews, or coaching for team members

  • Provides support and resolution of open IT issues escalated by the product team

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned







REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, developing, planning and executing scalable technology solutions, tools, operations and support; Ideally using technologies such as:

  • Programming languages such as: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, Angular or React, or NodeJS

  • Relational as well as NoSQL databases

  • Infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

  • CI/CD tools and processes such as GitHub Actions

Expert knowledge of cloud architectures, and services within Amazon AWS. Specific technologies include, but are not limited to:

  • AI/ML services: Bedrock, SageMaker

  • Compute: Lambdas, ECS, API Gateway, Step Functions

  • Data: DynamoDB, RDS, S3

  • Observability: CloudWatch logs, metrics and alarms
  • Significant experience in AI and ML technologies, tools, and processes such as MLFLow, RAGAS, RAG, prompt engineering, ML or LLM Ops, computer vision or NLP, ML model training and inference

  • Significant experience building applications or products that have AI/ML technologies embedded within the product and are core features of the solution and ensures the overall solution is scalable, reliable, and available

  • Demonstrates accountability, sound decision making, analytical thoroughness, clear and concise communications, and the ability to lead and coach team members

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Should have experience working in a fast-paced environment Agile SDLC process






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
