Job Description:


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Billing Representative in Portland, ME.

Responsibilities:


  • Validate data in EHR (Admission, Discharge, Transfer, Service Notes, Billing Logs, Attendance, Reports)

  • The Billing Representative will prepare charges for billing (HCFA1500, UB92, HIPAA 837, payer-specific invoice)

  • Read and solve EDI files and Explanation of Benefits

  • Reconcile revenue in EHR or offline billing

  • Manage and correct Payor rejections and denials

  • Follow-up on past due or denied accounts

  • MaineCare Authorization Import

  • Research and resolve credit balances

  • Maintain A/R files (client files, billing documents)

  • Respond to calls from Program Directors, clinicians, payers, clients

  • Maintain Excel spreadsheets and census reports

  • Prepare reports for department heads and program directors

  • Attend meetings and provide backup support

  • The Billing Representative will assist in A/R-related matters for year-end, internal QA, or third-party audits

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Accounts Receivable Manager or Director







REQUIREMENTS:



  • Knowledge of ICD9 and ICD10 diagnosis

  • Ability to read and problem solve EDI files

  • Ability to read an Explanation of Benefits

  • Microsoft Office experience

  • Demonstrate company values and CARE principles in all responsibilities






The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.



We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
