ModernaTX, Inc. seeks a Plant Engineer II for its Norwood, Massachusetts location.
Here's What You'll Do:
Provide direct engineering support for the clean utilities including WFI generation, storage, and distribution and process gases.
Provide technical support of grey utilities including chilled water, steam, boilers, and condensate systems including the associated BMS controls.
Provide GMP HVAC support utilizing expertise in clean room design, air distribution, HEPA filtration and certification, and pressure differential and pressure alarming strategies.
Serve as owner of GMP utility and HVAC equipment and systems on-site including troubleshooting equipment to determine root cause of failure modes, owning Corrective/Preventative Actions and associated change controls, providing input into preventative maintenance plans, assessing change controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide customer support to the Facilities and Manufacturing teams and develop knowledge of utility and HVAC requirements of each of the manufacturing areas.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to determine best path forward to identified issues by balancing technical, compliance, and business objectives.
Responsible for high quality technical writing within required quality systems and meeting project timelines to ensure production schedule is not impacted.
Evaluate safety of the operation of the utility and HVAC equipment and propose and implement safety improvements.
Adhere to all safety procedures.
Participate on project teams through all phases of engineering projects in the HVAC and utility areas including conceptual design, detailed design, equipment procurement, construction, installation, start up, commissioning, validation, and qualification of facilities and equipment.
May telecommute 1 day per week.
Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:
Minimum requirements: Requires a Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Engineering (any) or related field and 1 year of experience as a Plant Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or related position with a pharmaceutical company.
1 year of experience must include:
Providing direct engineering support to clean room operations, GMP HVAC, grey utilities (steam and condensate systems, pH Neutralization Systems) & GMP utilities (Water for injection, clean steam, process gases);
Working on large engineering capital projects including facility design and build outs;
Working on processing equipment including filling machines, isolators, autoclaves, parts washers;
Facility and equipment commissioning, qualification, and validation processes;
Working with electronic systems and applying knowledge of 21 CFR part 11, 210, and 211, & EU Annex-1 requirements;
Collaborating with Quality Assurance to streamline processes and remove obstacles to allow for agile and compliant project execution;
Owning quality records such as Change Controls, Deviations, and CAPAs quality records for plant utility systems;
Providing input into preventative maintenance plans, assessing change controls, and continuous improvement initiatives; and
Using risk-based approaches and optimizing system operations equipment design.
May telecommute 1 day per week.
