TK Elevator is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III in Atlanta, GA.
This role will play a critical role in designing and developing printed circuit boards for various electronic interfaces, in accordance with engineering standards, mechanical and company requirements, and processes, as well as maintaining our company Altium libraries.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams of Designers, Developers and Programmers, using effective interpersonal skills, to successfully develop, troubleshoot, and implement PCB designs that meet product functionality, specifications, Elevator industry Codes and Standards.
Understands and uses the A17.1 elevator code as a basis for all designs
Ability to perform and support Vendors, for internal and outsourced projects, the following activities, applying internal PCB Design guidelines and IPC Standards, following DFM and DFT (Design for Manufacturing and for Testing) good practice
Able to create or read/interpret Electrical/Electronic Schematics and/or work from preliminary schematics, part lists, basic description of the board functions/configuration/arrangement
Create testing requirement, generate project timing, and run lab testing for the prototype development/validation phase.
Assist in designing and specifying PCBA development simulator, fixture and/or functional testing bench
Become the Librarian for TKE internal Altium components and circuits libraries, including, creating/maintaining components/Assy's P/N, Drawings, Approved Vendor Lists, and CAD model/footprints, and ensuring the team is trained and follows the internal guideline/procedures for that activity.
Upgrade/Develop related tool/applications to increase the team efficiency in the PCAB development activity
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Provide design direction/suggestions and teach the Junior Electrical Engineers of the team.
Interact with other engineering departments - like Software, Mechanical and Test Equipment Teams - to follow internal/external interfaces/communications requirements, package space constrains and testing/functional requirements
Maintain Engineering documentation files and incorporate Engineering changes received from mechanical/electrical Engineers
As a plus, able to develop, validate and upload embedded firmware for Programmable Integrated Circuits (PICs), Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA), and other common industry devices to support board designs
Stay current with the latest PCB design trends and technologies
The ability to conduct successful design reviews, develop and adhere to design processes and effectively document design approaches is essential.
Adheres to the corporate compliance policy and ensures that behavior in the workplace is that of a responsible professional, including all safety procedures and company safety standards while working in the labs and test tower areas.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
15 years of related experience preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCB design
Advanced level with the Altium package software, and experience with Pcad.
Strong understanding of PCB fabrication processes and technologies
Experience with design rule checks, signal integrity and thermal analysis
Comprehension of general electrical engineering concepts required.
Possess strong decision-making abilities.
Possess effective verbal, written and presentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Demonstrated experience with electrical schematics design, PCB design/routing with Altium/P-CAD, or similar tool, is a plus.
Demonstrated some experience in using mechanical design software such as SolidWorks.
Demonstrated experience with hands on technical wiring and assembly of mechanical equipment is a plus.
Demonstrated some experience with embedded software in microcontroller and hardware/PCBA.
Demonstrated experience in lab environment, with the use of test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Probes, Meters.
