Purpose of the Job
Senior level engineering position accountable to manage, lead and assume full ownership of the engineering activities of a Signaling Project. In collaboration with the Signaling Project Manager, the Signaling Project Engineer (PrEng) has end to end accountability for the project engineering Scope, Quality, Schedule, Budget and Technical Performance objectives; from requirement analysis and allocation (for all technical contractual requirements) up through Test & Commissioning and final solution acceptance by the customer.
Main Responsibilities
Key accountabilities:
Manage the technical contractual scope of the project as the technical point of contact for the customer
Lead the technical deployment while coordinating between all engineering disciplines (including externals) to ensure the customer acceptance of the project solution
Own the project engineering Work Package (WP)
Collaborate with Engineering Leadership to estimate workload demand and properly staff projects
Together with the Project Manager, identify, raise and manage variation orders
Ensure that all the technical requirements, from analysis to demonstration, are managed throughout the project lifecycle
Collaborate with Engineering Leadership to define the Engineering Strategy (organization, ways of working, process governance, communication flow, certification needs etc.) and formalize it inside the Engineering Management Plan to ensure its adherence
Leads the Project Change Control process
Ensure that applicable technical documents are distributed to all relevant project disciplines
Generate and manage engineering Estimates to Complete including applicable assumptions, risks (including mitigation plans) and opportunities
Ensure project documentation approval by customer
Ensure the management of configuration throughout the project life cycle (as-designed, as-built, as-shipped, as-installed etc.)
Act as the engineering liaison to all project disciplines, including externals
Manage and participate in the evaluation of the project engineering team
Performance measurements:
Engineering Work Package (Scope, Quality, Schedule, Budget and Technical Performance) including variation order management
Project documentation approval by customer
Project requirements maturity (full coverage of requirements and customer acceptance)
Project configuration handover to Maintenance and Operations entities
Engineering management plan adherence
Experience
Mandatory:
10+ years in Signaling Engineering disciplines
3+ years in functional or hierarchical team management
Desirable:
5+ years in Signaling System Engineering and 5+ years in Signaling Applications Engineering and/or System Test/Validation
Schedule and budget generation and control for Signaling engineering scope
Collaboration with Signaling customers

Mandatory:
Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Engineering or other technical field

The base pay range for this role is 85,000 USD – 159,000 USD. The company reasonably expects to pay within that range, however, KB Signaling considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
