Covering a variety of business areas and needs, our internships are available to rising seniors in undergraduate programs. Engineered for personal and professional development, our summer program runs for ten weeks from early June through mid-August.

As a Back End Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in code development, testing and debugging, and documentation of software components.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:


  • Code Development: Assist in designing and implementing Java applications; write clean, maintainable code; participate in code reviews.

  • Testing and Debugging: Support quality assurance through testing; develop unit and functional tests; troubleshoot and suggest code improvements.

  • Documentation: Contribute to and maintain software documentation, including design specs and user guides.

  • Collaboration: Work with senior developers and cross-functional teams; engage in team meetings and technical discussions.

  • Learning and Development: Continuously acquire new Java skills; seek mentorship; stay updated on industry trends.

Qualifications:


  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • A solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.

  • Proficiency in Java programming language.

  • Familiarity with Java frameworks and tools such as Spring, Hibernate, Maven, etc., is a plus.

  • Basic knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and databases (SQL).

  • Experience with version control systems like Git.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
