Oversees operations and patient care, personnel supervision and clinical management. Develops procedures, goals, and oversees the clinical operations to ensure adherence, high-quality patient care, and professional collaboration with clinical team members. Identifies areas for improvement and proposes solutions. Complies with all university and regulatory policies and procedures to ensure the safe delivery of care. Serves as a patient advocate.
Duties:
Supervises clinical staff, including nurses, medical assistants, Chemotherapy navigators, and administrative staff. Coordinates and supervises the activities of personnel and serves as a point of contact for daily support. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, performance evaluations, discipline, and terminating employees.
Assists in the development and implementation of clinical or operational procedures specific to clinical operations. Observes services to ensure conformance. Enhances adherence to clinical, project, program, or departmental procedures. Ensures nursing activities performed in the clinic are in compliance with required federal, state, local and university rules and regulations.
Performs nursing duties in the clinic and provides continual training to nursing staff. Assists with discharge planning, new patient referrals, scheduling and organization of inpatient and outpatient care, and diagnostic and surgical planning. Collects specimen and data for basic and clinical research investigations. Triage calls from patient or patient's family members.
Serves as a patient advocate. Identifies, proposes solutions, and implements improvements and enhancement of patient care. . Serves as a nurse consultant to patients, family members, research staff, hospitals and MDs. Liaison with hospice, home health care professionals, hospital staff and other professionals.
Monitors research efforts working with clinical research nurses, regulatory office, directors and MDs to ensure productivity and cost effective strategies. Plans, develops, and implements research education programs for the clinic staff and nurse navigators.
Attends meetings and conferences. Conducts monthly staff meetings. May make presentations to committees and staff. Serves on various boards and committees.
Identifies areas for improvement and/or enhancement of patient care and proposes solutions. Conducts quality initiatives and assurance projects on a periodic basis. Monitors and restructures clinic to continue strong patient care, quality and efficiency.
Continues to integrate chemotherapy services and orders, and phase I practice into the EMR clinical practice.
Responsible for quality assurance audits required by clinical trial procedures. Assists University departments and other institutes to set up clinical trials and serves as a study contact nurse to provide answers and guidance if needed.
Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, AND:
60 months experience as a clinical trials nurse to include 24 months supervisory experience.

Departmental Preferences:
Will manage two field offices located in Anadarko and Lawton
Will serve as the immediate supervisor for the staff at these offices
Will work from the Lawton office three days a week and the Anadarko office two days a week, alternating the schedule to three days in Anadarko and two days in Lawton the following week
Supervision: Possible 3 to 5 - Phlebotomist and 2 Tribal Liaison
