Starting Wage DOE: $78,915 - $112,694
Healthcare/Cerner/EMR Experience STRONGLY preferred

Depending on experience and education, candidates may be considered for Senior or Principal BI Analyst
The Data Analyst at Billings Clinic plays a crucial role in delivering insightful analytics and customized reports across various business segments. This position involves administering standard EMR reporting applications and developing tailored analytics to support diverse operational needs. Key tasks include gathering and defining reporting specifications, extracting and interpreting data, and creating visually compelling reports that drive actionable insights. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, a critical thinker, and adept at adapting to a dynamic environment.
Essential Job Functions
• Assists with the administration of InfoView, Discern Analytics, and HealtheRegistries. This includes security/access management, application updates, and training.
• Creates ad-hoc reports within InfoView, Discern Analytics, as well as PowerBI.
• Integrates components of the Microsoft Power Platform to deliver data insights and trigger downstream processes. (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
• Maintains an understanding of clinical and business workflows and processes to support data initiatives.
• Guides the adoption, development and implementation of new analytic tools, technologies, and practices.
• Creates presentations for stakeholders and/or leadership to highlight key analysis takeaways.
• Creates and manages data validation plans to ensure data presented is trusted.
• Supports self-service BI users in their understanding of data and tools.
• Provides reporting solutions and responds to ad-hoc report requests from the business unit.
• Develops and converts user requirements into technical specifications for development.
• Knowledge of and adherence to agile software development lifecycle.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
• Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements. Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency standards as it relates to the environment, employee, patient safety or job performance.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
• B.S. or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Healthcare Admin or other field as it relates to the department, business unit and/or organization.
Senior Engineer Experience
• Three (3) years experience involving the implementation, establishment, updating and/or maintenance of analytic solutions.
• Knowledge of at least one data language (DAX, M, T-SQL, R, Python) preferred, but not required.
• Understanding of statistical forecasting principles preferred, but not required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience related to the responsibilities, knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above will be considered.
• Candidates must hold the required licenses or certifications, if applicable, and maintain them in good standing.
Principal Engineer Experience
• Eight (8) years experience involving the implementation, establishment, updating and/or maintenance of an analytic solutions
• Knowledge of at least one data language (DAX, M, T-SQL, R, Python) preferred, but not required.
• Understanding of statistical forecasting principles preferred, but not required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience related to the responsibilities, knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined above will be considered.
• Candidates must hold the required licenses or certifications, if applicable, and maintain them in good standing.
