What You Will Do
We are excited to be opening our new distribution facility in Merrillville, IN using state of the art technology while minimizing our carbon footprint. Our 400,000 square foot facility will serve as one of our global shipping hubs responsible for meeting the demand of our customers internationally.
The Senior Maintenance Technician provides expert technical support for high-impact equipment, machinery, and facilities in a cutting-edge environment. With extensive knowledge of maintenance processes, they deliver critical repairs and ensure optimal performance of precision equipment. This role involves training and mentoring junior technicians to enhance their skills and may include directing their work or serving as a backup for the Maintenance Supervisor.
The Senior Maintenance Tech excels in problem identification and analysis, leading projects to mitigate issues through structured project management. They effectively manage multidisciplinary teams to implement value-added improvements and drive efficiency. Key responsibilities include:
Special Projects
Lead and facilitate major improvement initiatives.
Identify issues, conduct analyses, and implement solutions through structured project management, including financial assessments and prototyping.
Corrective Maintenance
Diagnose and repair high-impact equipment issues reported by customers.
Implement improvements to reduce failure incidents.
Provide coaching and direction to Maintenance Techs 1, 2, and 3 for optimal customer support.
Talent Development
Assess skills and knowledge of junior maintenance technicians.
Design training programs to enhance their capabilities.
Create manuals, training materials, and certifications to standardize maintenance practices.
What You Will Bring
Required Degree: High school Diploma.
Experience: 8+ years relevant experience.
Strong customer-oriented approach.
Proficiency with electrical test instruments, hand and power tools.
Intermediate skills in word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet, and design software (drawings).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical information and project status.
Strong ability to analyze problems and find root cause solutions.
High level of precision in work.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for up to 4 hours per day.
Experience using hand pallets, lift trucks, and book & scissor lifts.
