POSITION SUMMARY:
The CNC Operator uses computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions. They are responsible for complying with all safety guidelines while keeping a keen eye for detail and great mechanical aptitude. They complete their tasks as outlined on the production sheet and panel drawings, per specific customer job requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling and slotting
Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, and mechanical drawings per specific customer job requirements
Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
Complete tasks outlined by your manager at the beginning of your shift
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have the ability to read, write, and understand English.
• Ability to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing, and counting.
• Ability to read, understand, and use all safety operating procedures and equipment.
• Ability to operate air tools and hand tools; and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Injection Molding knowledge a benefit. Ability to maintain sufficient supplies of backup tooling to keep up with customer demand. Works well in close team environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Typical machine shop and factory environment. Some heavy lifting. Standing for hours at a time.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Factory, shop environment, dirty job. Work to support fast paced production environment manufacturing consumable tooling.
