Position Summary:

The UNC Department of Anesthesiology is seeking a psychologist with specialty training in health psychology and pain medicine to join a prestigious group of pain medicine and pain psychology faculty. This individual would work primarily in a hospital-based multidisciplinary outpatient pain clinic, and also contribute to the research, teaching, and service missions of the department. Clinical responsibilities include psychological evaluations and testing, individual and group psychotherapy, health education, patient consultation, and supervision of trainees. This individual will manage a caseload covering a wide variety of medical/pin and mental health diagnoses to include: musculoskeletal pain, fibromyalgia, neuropathic pain, depression, mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD, and substance abuse and dependence.


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Doctorate in Psychology from an APA accredited program.


Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:

Completion of an APA accredited clinical internship and specialized post-doctoral fellowship training in Clinical Health Psychology and/or Pain Medicine. Current North Carolina licensure or license eligible.
