Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is recruiting for a full-time, open rank faculty position in general obstetrics and gynecologist with a focus on pediatric/adolescent gynecology. The General Obstetrics and Gynecology Division is comprised of 18 physicians, 9 advanced practice providers and 3 fellows in an academic generalist fellowship program. The division excels in transformative patient care, innovative research, and education of trainees at all levels. The division offers a wide breadth of clinical and surgical care, low and medium risk obstetrical care, the full range of outpatient gynecology including menopausal, pediatric and adolescent care, and the full range of gynecologic surgery including minimally invasive, vaginal and abdominal.
The division's mission is to serve the people of North Carolina. We provide outpatient services in the boutique town of Cary and scenic town of Chapel Hill, NC. Division members also provide care for the NC Correctional Institute for Women in Raleigh; and for Horizons, a perinatal substance abuse program with intensive outpatient care, residential treatment, and a 40-bed daycare.
The division is well represented in the School of Medicine with 2 faculty members holding Dean-level positions and multiple service line leaders. For those interested in medical education, there is a wide bench of experience in preclinical and clinical phases of the curriculum. Our faculty play a regular and active role in resident supervision.
The UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of the top OB-GYN departments in the country. With over 90 faculty in 10 different divisions and more than 50 residents and fellows, this department is known for its innovative clinical care, robust research portfolio (ranked #4 in NIH funding), and outstanding training programs, (a Doximity ranked #4 residency program and 8 fellowships).
An MD degree, completion of an ACGME approved 4-year OB-GYN residency and a pediatric/adolescent gynecology fellowship (or specialized area of expertise) are all required
Demonstrated record of teaching activity with medical students and OB/GYN residents.
Will be required to work some nights, weekends, and holidays.
