Senior Advanced Systems Engineer job in Manassas, Virginia is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Defense company. In this job you will contribute to state-of-the-art technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance systems supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces, and other Federal Government agencies.
Responsibilities:
Lead system development, deployment, and validation of USW-DSS software baselines and infrastructure.
Oversee planning, integration, security, and validation efforts for software/system baselines and deployment processes.
Collaborate with customer technical leaders and government stakeholders to track program objectives and ensure alignment.
Provide technical leadership for requirements definition, architecture design, prototyping, and work planning.
Manage a cross-functional engineering team, including hiring and resource planning.
Utilize tools like JIRA, BitBucket, and Confluence for task coordination, monitoring, and status reporting.
Lead the build, security, and monitoring of virtualization environments supporting DevOps and collaborative testing.
Participate in technical leadership meetings, reviews, and issue adjudication.
Lead semi-annual software release efforts, providing both remote and on-site support for installations.
Perform risk analysis, budget estimation, and coordination with the program manager for resource planning.
Provide Tier 3 support for remote system issues as needed and train installation teams on new deployments.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizen with Active Secret Security Clearance
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field (Master's preferred).
8+ years of software and systems engineering experience (6+ years with a Master's degree).
Proven ability to lead large engineering teams and manage complex software systems.
Hands-on technical project management experience.
Experience with U.S. Navy programs, USW-DSS systems, and CANES networks preferred.
Expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Strong experience in software development, integration, and networking.
Proficiency with public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OpenShift).
Familiarity with DevOps practices, network infrastructure, and virtual environments.
Familiarity with cybersecurity practices, including encryption, RMF, STIG, and key management.
