In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day EHS operations at the Moderna facility in Norwood, MA. The candidate will play a key role in managing EHS events, conducting investigations, implementing CAPA, owning individual EHS programs, and maintaining compliance with various EHS programs under the guidance of the site EHS leadership.
Here's What You'll Do
Assess and manage relevant EHS risks within R&D environments as well as associated enabling functions.
Develop and implement technical standards and SOP's associated with safety and environmental programs.
Maintain site programs associated with mitigation of high-risk work activities including: SIF prevention, permit-to-work, and job hazard analysis.
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to advise on EHS specific requirements for operational compliance and risk management.
Implement management of change processes associated with operational modifications to the site that may impact safety, sustainability, or other regulatory requirements.
Participate in facilitated reviews of capital projects impacting site infrastructure, manufacturing operations, and analytical capabilities.
Actively partner with stakeholders that have technically complex and high-risk operations including: Facilities & Engineering Services, Technical Development, Capital Projects, and Logistics.
Engage with functional leadership to improve EHS competence, engagement, and culture.
Perform collaborate RCA investigations and implement actionable CAPAs against high learning value EHS events.
Provide technical competence and interest in environmental compliance and sustainability domains.

Here's What You'll Need ( Basic Qualifications)
7-10 years EHS experience with operations in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D organizations.
Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Massachusetts specific experience in EHS laws and regulations is highly desirable.
Experience with deployment of ISO14001 and ISO45001 management systems.
Technical familiarity/ competence with analytical equipment, lab operations, and processes associated with biopharmaceutical operations.
Deep understanding of high-risk EHS programs including Lock-out Tag-Out, flammables material requirements, fall from heights, confined space entry, hot work, permit-to-work systems.
Expertise in developing clear, concise, and effective procedures and standards.
Willingness to travel to local sites and provide hands-on assistance to improve performance.
Demonstrated ability to deliver actionable solutions in a rapidly changing environment, one that is growing quickly and adapting to new/changing market conditions.
Comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with limited direction and able to pivot to adjust workload or work style based upon business needs.
Strong team building skills/ effective interpersonal communication skills are needed in this role to drive collaboration and adoption by the various teams across the company.
Strong preference for candidates that have demonstrated competency in environmental compliance programs including: air emissions, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous waste.
