JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Director of Cable ManufacturingSummary/Objective: The Director of Cable Manufacturing is responsible for directing and coordinating the operations of the manufacturing facility which includes developing efficiency strategies and ensuring the plant meets production goals at minimal manufacturing costs. This position works with all site leaders to coordinate all operations and ensure a safe work environment. The position is part of a group of managers in both operations and engineering working collaboratively for Samtec's success.Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Develop and implement plant policies and procedures.
Establish and/or implement departmental goals, objectives, or procedures.
Coordinate and execute production schedules in accordance with sales and capacity.
Responsible for the constant monitoring of the equipment capacities and utilizations in order to implement proactive actions to support the Samtec Sudden Service core value.
Apply Manufacturing best practices including standard operations, plant layout, waste reduction or elimination, continuous improvements, engineering change control.
Assist with global operational strategies and metrics in relation to cable manufacturing.
Demonstrate Lean Manufacturing experience in low and high-volume environments.
Proactively lead continuous improvement efforts to improve quality and reduce scrap.
Set and sustain a clean and organized working environment utilizing basic 5S principles.
Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, production and maintenance to plan, coordinate, execute, and troubleshoot issues.

10 years Management Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
Prior experience in extrusion manufacturing processes preferred.
Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Training Required:
On the job training as appropriate.
