We are actively searching for a Sr. Manager - Surgical Planning and Execution. This position will be based at our campus in Naples, FL. Main Objective: Responsible for leading the Surgical Planning and Eecution Teams for full life cycle development of pre-operative and intra-operative execution tools in the achievement of company goals. The Surgical Planning and Execution team will support all Product team digital needs including but not limited to pre-operative surgical planning, surgical instrument designs, augmented reality solutions and navigation solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the Surgical Planning and Execution Teams (Coordinator, Planning Engineers, Development Engineers, etc.) work activities to provide timely and efficient flow of services and projects.
Maintains a leading edge understanding of the orthopedic industry, customers, and competitors in order to find new and novel opportunities to grow the business and reduce cost.
Hires, develops and retains the best talent for the Surgical Planning and Execution Teams and the organization. Actively provides coaching and career development assistance to team members. Develops future leaders by effective selection and development activities
Work closely with Product Management teams, EMEA and APAC commercial teams in ascertaining needs development.
Support Product Management Teams customer initiatives
Assesses new technology and new product ideas for technical and economic feasibility
Develops and oversees the development of budgets and timelines for new product projects.
Leads multifunctional new product project teams through feasibility, initiation, planning, execution, and termination, adhering closely to project timeline and budget.
Maintains design history file for assigned projects, adhering to Arthrex design control procedures.
Provides Regulatory department technical support for projects as needed.
Supports Marketing and Product Management with technical information to be used for training and marketing of assigned products.
Supports technical and support vendors/subcontractors to optimize the development and execution of VIP solutions.
Initiate procedures and drive execution to deliver patient specific models and/or planning coordinates 99%+ on-time delivery without defect.
Reports progress and status of projects monthly with emphasis on reporting results to direct supervisor
Ensure compliance within functional area and support the compliance objectives of the organization.
Up to 20% travel required.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree required, preferably in Engineering.
10 years of relevant experience required
4+ years of supervisory experience required
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Working knowledge of joint anatomy.
Proficiency in designing products using a 3D-CAD program.
Manufacturing process knowledge.
Technical knowledge in development methodologies, design, and project implementation.
State of the art knowledge of orthopedic surgery principles, theories, and products.
Proficiency in assessing the value of new product ideas based on technical and financial merits.
