What You Will Contribute:
As a Sustaining Electrical Engineer at Badger Meter, you will be essential in maintaining and enhancing our existing electrical and electronic products. This position focuses on ensuring product performance in the production environment, allowing you to apply your creativity and problem-solving skills while collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expertise in the ongoing support and improvement of PCB and component circuitry for existing products.
Finalize production implementations, including developing test methodologies and creating production validation fixtures and procedures.
Prepare and finalize release documentation for hardware components, including product work instructions and engineering change requests.
Provide advanced hardware support to various departments for sustaining engineering activities.
Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams, contributing to project schedules, budgets, and risk assessments.
Mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise to support their professional development.
Qualifications:
5+ years in electrical engineering and manufacturing support
Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
Demonstrated experience in maintaining and improving existing electronic products, with a focus on PCB hardware design and integration within both stand-alone circuits and embedded systems.
Solid experience working with 8-bit, 16-bit, ARM, or similar microcontrollers and microprocessors.
Expertise in Altium (or similar) schematic capture and PCB layout software.
Extensive experience using test instruments (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, environmental chambers) for troubleshooting.
Experience working with other departments to provide technical support for products is preferred
