The Development Advisory team serves clients nationwide. This position offers the chance to work remotely, with office time expected as determined by the team's needs.


What you will do:
This role includes intermediate analysis, project management, and client-facing work across the spectrum of Development Advisory which includes; economic analysis and strategy; urban development and planning; real estate redevelopment; housing planning and strategy; community development; equitable growth; incentive program development; workforce and labor analysis; and public-private-nonprofit real estate project strategy and implementation.


In this role you will:


  • Collaborate with internal and external project teams, independently and strategically to advance project opportunities, implement timelines and develop recommendations for project content.


  • Lead in project management and liaison for client relationships, aligning project teams with client needs and ensuring client satisfaction with our work.


  • Develop in-depth knowledge of clients' existing conditions and needs and develop solutions through direct client interaction while working on multiple aspects of an engagement. Research, document writing, and communication in written and presentation format.


  • Develop project deliverables, memos, presentations, and final reports for delivery to the client, documenting and reviewing engagement work papers in accordance with project needs and industry-acceptable methodologies.


  • Act as a valued business advisor, build relationships and communicate effectively with the client to provide superior client service. Managing, developing, training, and mentoring staff on projects and assessing performance for engagement and year-end reviews.


  • Performing project management duties - oversees work plan execution, provides periodic internal and client facing status reports, generates invoices and manages the project budget, oversees development and distribution of deliverables, and manages day-to-day communication and coordination with client team.


  • Lead professional and effective presentations to internal and external audiences.


  • Continue to develop knowledge and experience working with various technology environments, platforms, applications, and tools/utilities.


  • Attending professional development, networking events and training seminars. Adhering to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.


  • Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects, and revenue.


  • Invest in professional development individually and through participation in firmwide learning and development programs.





Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree within business, economics, urban planning, finance, or public
    administration, MUP, MPA, or MBA desirable but not a requirement.


  • 5+ year(s) experience with relevant work experience and specific knowledge in areas of focus
    (economic development, housing, real estate, and/or redevelopment) with either private or public


  • Knowledge, skills and passion for the principles and practice connected to housing, development,
    social impact and equity, redevelopment, economic development, and community development.


  • Experience as a client serving professional for a consulting firm desired.


  • Excellent analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to


  • Exceptional verbal, presentation, and written communication, collaboration, and time management


  • Ability to multi-task, work well independently in a fast-paced environment and be highly self-


  • Motivation to work extended hours and travel as needed to meet the needs of clients and growth
    of the national practice.
