Eurofins Panlabs is searching for a Scientific Manager to work in St. Charles, MO
Scientific Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
Leads scientific teams in support of ADMET, Ion Channel, and Phenotypic Services in a contract research setting
Reports key performance metrics and leads continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives
Provides technical leadership in complaint investigations, troubleshooting failure, root cause analysis, and leads corrective action plans to maintain high performance in scientific services
Ensures accurate data management and reporting, with the highest integrity, and performs quality control approval and release of data and client reports
Leads site research and development objectives and manages resources to plan
Develops client and scientific relationships, and provides sound scientific guidance and oversight in project planning, execution, reporting, and interpretation
Supports Client Services team, Study Directors, and/or Technical Director in proposal scope of work preparation and Product Management teams in pricing and cost analysis
Works effectively in a team environment, under minimum direction, to achieve business production, while adhering to project timelines and quality objectives
Routinely communicates project updates to internal and external clients
Coordinates work flow with team Supervisors, the Operations Manager, Scientific and Technical Directors, as applicable. Provides strategic staffing plan, and ensures resources meet business demand and new growth initiatives
Responsible for managing employees, including hiring, day-to-day scheduling, training, and development, EHS compliance, performance appraisals, competency testing, counseling, and discipline
Conducts supervisory responsibilities with efficiency, respect, and empathy, in accordance with Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer the organization's policies and applicable laws
Leads compliance in all requirements for work performed within a GxP site
Manages team in compliance of Employee Health and Safety requirements
Manages use and maintenance of lab equipment and department assets
Directs equipment life-cycle and planning, including instrument selection, evaluation, and validation, acquisition, implementation, and performance monitoring
Conducts responsible use of confidential IT and business systems, as required
Manages department SOPs and lab quality documentation requirements
Responsible for maintaining training curriculum and ensuring employee training compliance
Scientific Manager may fulfill the role of Study Director, Group Leader and Principal Scientist, as required
Supports unit goals and demonstrates Eurofins' competencies, as defined in the job plan
The ideal candidate would possess :
Demonstrates a positive attitude, capacity for team environment, and exhibits a genuine interest in drug discovery in support of advancing human health
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills, including ability to prepare detailed scientific reports and group presentations
A working understanding of international regulatory requirements and aptitude to stay relevant on topical scientific publications
Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, and technical reports
Ability to multitask with organization and manage time effectively. Demonstrates flexibility to accommodate, schedule, execute, and manage concurrent activities
Ability to support work in a laboratory setting, according to the physical requirements of laboratory role
Lab equipment and office computer/software proficiency
Expert level technical expertise in laboratory techniques
Ability to lead and inspire scientific teams, train, mentor, and objectively review direct reports and support personnel
Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring appropriate allocation of available resources
Experience in leading LEAN and process excellence initiatives
Experience in R&D and client-centered project management
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning for pharma
Experience in leading teams in a GxP compliant laboratory
Demonstrated experience in working effectively with business development, sales, and customer service organizations
Experience with leading cross-functional teams effectively
Basic Minimum Qualifications :
B.A. or B.S. with 12 years relevant experience
M.A. or M.S. with 10 years relevant experience
Ph.D. with 8 years relevant experience
Proven experience with portfolio expansion and research/ development in an industry setting
Demonstrated experience with developing client relationships, technical correspondence, and consultation
Experience with leading and managing scientific teams
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of St. Charles MO are encouraged to apply.
