Description:
The Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of EEG and single unit analysis, signal processing, and collection of electrophysiological data in TBI models. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
Responsibilities may include working with the Principal Investigator on designing, carrying out, and analyzing complex electrophysiological experiments in the area of cognition, Post Traumatic Epilepsy (PTE), and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
The successful applicant will have an opportunity to develop independence in the areas of experimental design and analysis, as well as preparation of grants and manuscripts. In addition to a PhD, the preferred applicant must have 5 years of experience in the field.
