Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:



  • Familiarity and understanding of IT security protocols, remediation techniques, and best practices.

  • Familiarity and understanding of Identity Management solutions and concepts.

  • Experience using programming and/or scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, SQL, JavaScript)

  • Experience leveraging REST APIs to develop automated role-based access provisioning, reporting, fail over strategies, and/or license control.

  • Ability to occasionally work additional or non-standard hours to meet deadlines or support critical services.

  • Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification or eligibility to acquire certification within the first 90 days of employment.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience administering CRM/CSM systems including configuration, customization, and development

  • Experience administering Windows Server 2016 and higher and/or Linux RHEL 8 and higher.

  • Experience with SSO authentication services (Entra ID, SAML, etc.)

  • Experience with containerization and microservices development with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, etc.

  • Knowledge of applicable university, department, and unit policies and procedures.

  • Understanding of network infrastructure and troubleshooting.

  • Experience in recognizing and addressing anomalies such as security violations, network and server response, and I/O throughput.

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure.

  • Proven ability to produce clear, concise, error-free correspondence and other documentation.


Job Description:

The Systems Administrator I is responsible for administering and maintaining servers and services under the team's management. This role involves developing and managing within cloud-based platforms to support various stakeholders across campus entities with different needs and feature requirements.


Job Duties:



  • Develop and customize Customer Service Management platform and scale to campus stakeholders

  • Leverage REST APIs to develop automated role-based access provisioning, reporting, fail over strategies, and license control.

  • Develop customized workflows, views, screens, and solutions based on the needs of various stakeholders.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement.

  • Monitor and maintain metrics on performance and availability of cloud-based services.

  • Administer SaaS and/or cloud-based systems, utilizing group policy, active directory, and server applications to provision access and permissions.

  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve or escalate problems and issues.

  • Recognize and address anomalies such as security violations, network and server response, and I/O throughput.

  • Provide resolutions for escalated problems from other technical professionals within the university.

  • Identify potential problems and opportunities and recommend solutions.

  • Communicate effectively on the potential impact of various technical events and system status.

  • Provide clear and effective documentation and communicate lessons learned.

  • Document internal practices and policies to ensure a robust team knowledge base.

  • Conduct bench marking and feedback with vendors, customers, and other peers.

  • Facilitate communication between university stakeholders and external vendors to design, configure, and implement new software services efficiently.

  • Develop workflows, identify process improvement opportunities, and design solutions that satisfy business needs.

  • Enforce IT policies and procedures within the scope of enterprise application support and change management.

  • Partner with university security teams to enforce the security of supported environments.

  • Provide proactive capacity and performance management recommendations to ensure sufficient resources grow with stakeholder demand.

  • Strive to improve the efficiency of hardware and personnel resources.

  • Provide reports on systems performance, capacity, and licensing to assist in planning for future application requirements and purchases.
