This position is for a Tool Control Analyst within the Large Power Systems Division located in our Lafayette, IN facility. This position will help coordinate the ordering of indirect materials used in the facility. This area includes the analyzing of all items to assure that the material is necessary to be ordered and/or setup including the availability of stock. This is to assure that Operations have back-up tooling, and necessary maintenance items when needed. This position is responsible for returning incorrect material, coordinating the transfer of material to other facilities when needed, and making the necessary corrections to inventory. Analyst is responsible for ordering hazardous material within the facility including new setups, managing stocking levels, and scheduling deliveries. This includes notification to all individuals involved before material arrives.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for ordering/stocking systems being used Corporate-Wide to drive cost savings.
Responsible for reconciling of daily grief reports.
Coordinate with Suppliers to prioritize and execute emergency deliveries (expedites)
Work with supervisors, technicians, and other support groups on down or back-up machine parts, quality issues, ergonomic and safety issues.
Purchase orders created daily ensuring that material will arrive on or before due date.
Must be able to utilize purchasing system software.
Requires working knowledge Caterpillar's Worldwide Conduct Code, Information Security Awareness Methods, and Information Protection Guidelines, for which training will be provided to the selected candidate.
Candidate will be required to stay in the section for 12 months with the exception of a promotion.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must demonstrate good math skills.
Strong computer literate and have prior knowledge of spreadsheet software.
Must have good written and oral communication, interpersonal skills, and will need to make frequent updates to management.
Problem solving skills and understanding of the problem-solving techniques involved are required.
Must have the willingness and ability to constructively work with various departments.
Willingness to accept change and have a positive approach to customer service.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed to meet goals and objectives.
Physical Requirements:
Candidates for all positions must have the ability to work in a fast pace, medium to heavy duty assembly, technical environment.
Work may involve frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling, twisting, turning, climbing, and standing on concrete for 8+ hours.
All positions also require the ability to lift 40 pounds and withstand frequent repetitive movement of hands with a variety of tooling.
Must be able to work in heights and confirmed spaces.

Shift hours: 1st (7:30am-3:30pm)
