The Department of Executive Medicine is currently seeking a per diem Radiologic Technologist to work at UHealth Palm Beach. The Radiologic Technologist - Per Diem sees patients referred for radiological examinations and produces radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of medical problems. The incumbent operates with the goal of preventing patients from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
Reviews and evaluates developed x-rays, video tape, and computer-generated information to determine whether images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
Records thorough and accurate patient medical histories.
Explains procedures, observes patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan, monitors patients' conditions and reactions, and reports abnormal signs to a physician.
Positions and immobilizes patients on examining table.
Arranges imaging equipment and adjusts controls to set exposure time and distance.
Records, processes, maintains patient data and treatment records, and prepares reports.
Organizes examination rooms, ensuring that the necessary equipment is ready for use.
Performs scheduled maintenance and minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associate's degree in relevant field
Certification and Licensing:
Current Florida Basic X-Ray Machine Operator (BXMO) or Radiologic Technologist (RT) license
BLS Certification
EKG Certificate
Medical Assistant Certification preferred
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Department Specific Functions
Perform radiological tests for concierge patients. Enter patient medical information into Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Show patients to exam rooms and prepare them to see the providers. Operate medical equipment used to administer routine diagnostic tests:
Routine X-rays
Bone Density
Pulmonary function test
Hearing and vision test
EKG
Assist providers with patient examinations and procedures. Must be willing to travel/float between sites.
