Job Title: Facilities, Equipment and Laboratory Support Facilities Manager- Vaccines

This role involves managing biological testing laboratory facilities within Research and Development.

Main Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible to manage the R&D laboratories, including the high containment BSL3 area, and provide operational support to R&D platforms as part of the Facilities and Equipment platform.
The position will be responsible to ensure facilities remain in safe and operational condition in accordance with applicable biosafety level BSL1, BSL2, BSL2+ and BSL3).
The position will interface with external support systems such as maintenance and metrology systems, remote facility, utility and equipment monitoring/alarming systems, to ensure that the R&D facilities are properly maintained.
The Facilities Manager will be responsible to manage the BSL3 laboratories in accordance with World Health Organization (WHO) and Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Global Action Plan (GAPIV) requirements and guidelines as part of the overall site GAP committee.
The position will handle R&D facility and laboratory renovations.
The position will interface with stakeholders and scientific leadership, and external support personnel such as automation and digital experts, as well as HSE, Maintenance, Metrology, and vendors.
The position will perform activities to adhere to project timelines, budgets and overall implementation of facilities/equipment projects.
The position will also assist other members of the FELS Swiftwater team in a secondary/backup role in the execution of other FELS activities, such as equipment lifecycle and laboratory support operations to ensure business continuity.
Implementation of operational efficiency improvements for continuous improvement, and to allow laboratory personnel to focus on laboratory work is also expected of this position.
About You
Education and Experience Requirements:
B.S. degrees in engineering (mechanical, electrical, chemical, etc) or science (Biology, Biochemistry, etc) related major required
Work experience: 3-5 years
Qualifications:
Clear communicator (written and verbal) - Written skills required to create clear and concise documents including procedures, deviation investigations, plans, test cases and reports. Verbal skills required to be able to act as a liaison between different groups/stakeholders, such as laboratory management and Maintenance/HSE.
Creative and abstract thinking - Required to develop and implement innovative, creative and efficient solutions to issues.
Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables - Candidate must be goal driven to ensure project timelines are met, and to resolve issues in order to meet schedules when needed.
Ability to develop and implement new technologies and efficiencies related to F&E Ops activities.
Basic understanding of Equipment Qualification and Lifecycle.
Independently motivated with ability to work under minimal supervision.
Minimum Preferred Skills:
Experience with testing laboratory facilities and equipment.
Experience in biological laboratories.
Experience with electronic documentation systems and technical writing
Business process understanding
Ability to make decisions according to role accountability and Company thoughtful risktaking strategies.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, Visio, Project, etc.
Working knowledge of Sanofi applications such as Electronic Documentation Management Systems (EDMS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), Procurements Systems (eBuy, etc.) and other tools used for Facility & Equipment Management (SAP, calibration database, remote monitoring/alarming systems, etc.).
