We are seeking a Divisional Financial Officer for our U.S. Insurance Business in our Warren location. This position will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations and strategy of the US Insurance business. This role involves managing financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and expense management to ensure the financial health and growth of the division. This role will work closely with our P&L leadership to drive business performance and support strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Planning and Forecasting
Responsible for partnering with business leaders in sales, underwriting, product and actuarial to complete strategic and annual plan projections to understand the P&L related items.
Work closely with field and regional teams to create production plans at a geographical and line of business level. Plans need to include detailed assumptions supporting new and renewal business including expected strategic initiatives that are in development or underway.
Coordinate with actuarial to ensure that information is received and reviewed prior to submission to Group.
Develop PowerPoint presentation detailing the business and financial achievements expected during the plan.
Develop P&L forecasts per quarter projecting current and future quarter results based on market knowledge received from business leaders.
Develop commentary explaining the business drivers causing the forecast variances to plan and prior year.
P&L Ownership and Financial Analysis
Ownership of the divisional financial results. Developing detailed financial reviews and analysis of each line item of the P&L
Ensure the accuracy, completeness of North American Financials. Work with Insurance and Group finance if issues are discovered to make sure corrective journal entries are made.
Creating reports providing key metrics that help users understand the financial results.
Understand variances in financial results from forecast, plan, and prior year.
Develop reports and commentary that help measure progress on financial and operational key performance indicators.
Develop and co-present a presentation that provides the financial and divisional highlights during the quarter.
Strategic Planning and business support

Expense Management
Work with business leaders to manage expenses and maintain expense ratio.
Closely monitor expense dollars that allows spending to turn into future growth.
Build detailed expense plans from business leaders that detail out how dollars are being spent.
Work with Everest IT and IT Finance to understand how IT capital and operating expense dollars are being utilized.
Develop CBA's and ROI on specific investment dollars that are being requested.
Manage headcount budget at department level and support department leaders with regular reporting.
Data and Systems
Involvement in system changes or new system builds to ensure that all finance and accounting needs are being properly handled.
Set strategy with corporate finance on delivering changes that are needed to improve efficiency leveraging the corporate planning software (Anaplan).
People Leadership
Lead and mentor a team fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Work Experience and Qualifications
Four-year degree in Business with an Accounting/Finance major (preferred)
Ability to work effectively and independently with other disciplines and all levels of management/staff throughout the organization
Expert knowledge of Excel
Good communication skills both oral and written.
Strong analytical skills
CPA Preferred
