Summary:
Expand your technical and professional skills in the growing clean and renewable energy industry. Invenergy, North America's largest privately-held wind power producer, is looking for students who want to gain valuable and relevant industry experience this summer.
Internship Overview:
Invenergy Wind Interns will work out of a designated energy center and will observe work of Invenergy technicians and learn how to perform basic turbine operation and maintenance tasks. As an intern, you will help to ensure the safe, compliant, and profitable operations of existing Invenergy wind fleets. This is a hands-on internship that will equip you with the necessary skills to begin an exciting career in the wind industry!

Candidates must be available to work full-time at one of the following sites: Wolverine Creek Energy Center located in Iona, ID.

Wind Technician Certificate
Requirements:
Targeted completion of a Certification Program or Associate's degree between May 2025 and June 2027
High school diploma or equivalent
Completed OSHA 10 training
Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet)
Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds)
Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Responsibilities:
Assist technicians with routine mechanical and electrical maintenance on GE wind turbine and associated equipment
Climb wind turbine towers daily, wearing all required safety equipment, to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
Understand electrical and mechanical functions of all components of a wind turbine generator and associated equipment
Assist technicians in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults; repair and/or replace components
Maintain company tooling, facilities and equipment and a clean safe work environment
Work a 40 hour work week and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime. The work schedule will vary during the peak maintenance periods

Individuals receiving conditional offers of employment will be subject to drug testing and must receive a negative result to begin working for the company
Relocation expenses and/or housing allowance will not be provided
